Hooked on Blackboard Paint

I’ve gotten sick of the piles of papers and possessions that cover our table and decided to work out a way to divide them up, so headed off to Bunnings on Saturday morning and found these craft crates, some blackboard paint and a few other bits and pieces. A coat of undercoat: And ta-da! Blackboard [...]

Green Dream

I went and looked at this house in West End to write a story for Green Magazine. I took a few photos while I was there because, dammit, I just had to. It’s a great house. The original facade remains intact but the back of the home has been transformed into an open, breezy wonderland. [...]

The Austrian Pipe Hotel

Ever fancied spending the night in a sewage pipe? No? Well, best to avoid Das Park Hotel in Austria then.  Each ‘room’ is a segment of sewage pipe…. I never thought I’d say this about plumbing, but I actually quite like the way it’s been decorated.

You Light Up My Life.

Today, I’m hooked on lighting. Lighting is unbelievably important to our appreciation of the space around us. There’s nothing that kills my mood faster than a fluorescent bulb and nothing that uplifts it faster than the soft, yellow glow of fairy lights… I’ve dug up some inspiration for you below. I’ve also dug out my [...]

Creative Space

I’m pretty sure that having this as your study/studio/creative room would very quickly lead to a serious increase in  creative output. Because you wouldn’t spend any time anywhere else, would you? It’s colourful, slightly chaotic but still organised. Thanks to Everything Etsy for posting it first. I love this centre bench -It’s surely the perfect [...]

London Villa

I was browsing the Style Files and discovered this London home. Love the colour, love the white floors (clearly they’re not dog people), LOVE the fridge. The shade on the light, below, looks like a security camera here, but is actually a cool metallic ball.

Hooked On Wall Allure

It’s Friday, which means it must be Hooked on Fridays again! Today, I’m going with a local company and their wall stickers.  Affordable, gorgeous, colourful, stylish. What’s NOT to be hooked on? As they’re an Australian company, their designs are affordable for Australians to buy AND cheap as chips if you’re buying from the US (do [...]

Eager Owl House

I was just browsing Real Estate listings when I saw this place in Toorak, Victoria. My first reaction was that it looks like an owl: The inside is actually quite appealing though. It’s minimalist, but with a splash of colour and character. The outside areas look pretty inviting too.

The Darling Floods of May

It’s raining and yet again, the downstairs of my house is lightly flooded. In between mopping up buckets of water, I ducked down to a local op shop to pick up some cheap towels and two $10 fan heaters to help dry the carpet out once the rain stops. which apparently won’t be until Friday. [...]

Cute Stuff

Check out  Moline’s Etsy shop for these lovely paper collages, which would be perfect in a girl’s bedroom or for a feminine touch to a living area.  Moline’s blog and Flickr pages are also worth a look. She uses colour amazingly well in all the spaces in her home.
